Final Kitchen Remodel

Original Kitchen

A 2-foot wall protruding in to the room was removed. The area contained plumbing from a bathroom above. this entailed the following work:
-
plumbing was relocated against the wall
-
framing out new section, as well as ceiling
-
joist removed, then reinforced with headers and new joists to accommodate plumbing

The wall to the right was mostly removed and the section was replaced with a steal I-beam, which we opted to paint and leave exposed, as a unique detail. (Pictured below.)

This opened the kitchen fully into the dining room, allowing us to add a large island.

A wall separating the dining room and living room was also completely removed, giving the entire first floor an open feel with great flow.
